The Blurb:
When the mysterious Nowhere Emporium arrives in Glasgow, orphan Daniel Holmes stumbles upon it quite by accident. Before long, the 'shop from nowhere' -- and its owner, Mr Silver -- draw Daniel into a breathtaking world of magic and enchantment. Recruited as Mr Silver's apprentice, Daniel learns the secrets of the Emporium's vast labyrinth of passageways and rooms -- rooms that contain wonders beyond anything Daniel has ever imagined. But when Mr Silver disappears, and a shadow from the past threatens everything, the Emporium and all its wonders begin to crumble. Can Daniel save his home, and his new friends, before the Nowhere Emporium is destroyed forever?
The Review:
I loved this book. Magic, secrets, challenges and magpies- just the sort of thing that I love in a story.
The Nowhere Emporium is special. It's not just special though, it's magical and full of wonder and awe. It's a place like no other and I fell in love with it.
Ross has created a world which I loved exploring and the idea of so many wonderful rooms hidden inside a small shop excites me especially as they can be rooms of practically anything.
I adored Ellie & Daniel' friendship and realised that parents will resort to anything to protect their children from the dangers of other people's actions.
I thoroughly hope that there's a sequel to this book as I loved it so much.
